Call to Order:
The meeting of the New Hampshire Planners Association (NHPA) was called to order at 9:45 a.m.

Minutes of December 1st, 2005:
The minutes of the December 1 st 2005 were unanimously approved with an amendment that Kerrie Diers was not present at the December 1st meeting.

Treasurer's Report:
Steffen provided a Treasurer’s report which noted that the withdrawl of $1,285.53 for the deposit for Church’s Landing for the NNECAPA event in September. Diers indicated that she would email directors concerning organizational membership to remind them of NHPA’s role.

NHPA’s Professional Development Conference:
Koehler gave an overview of a proposal to have the event at Plymouth State University. NHPA could give $500 toward the workshop. The training would involve developing public surveys. Alternative dates other than May 18 th would be explored with PSU to not conflict with DES’s Source Water Protection workshop.

NNECAPA Workshop:
Thibault gave an overview of the preliminary discussion about this year’s NNECAPA workshop with the NNECAPA committee. One of the themes discussed would be “Therapy for Planners” (Energy Planning and considerations). This would be a hands-on training with 3 tracks, re-thinking the approach to energy and planning. Another topic with some interest was “medium” income housing and how to make it happen. The event would be at Church’s Landing in Meredith with a cruise reception. The next meeting of the NNECAPA group is February 10 th.

Website News & Updates:
Czysz reported that the website continues to be updated with planner updates, events, RFPs, jobs and the LGC web person is doing a good job.

Strategic Plan.
The strategic plan and annual plan need review and possible posting on the website was discussed by the group. KD will review status.

Legislative Issues:
Ben Frost will no longer be summarizing the legislative dockets for NHPA. OEP has put together a team to do such a review and Thibault will ask Chris Northrop is they can provide an update to NHPA.

Old & New Business :

• Feb 9 th, NRPC’s Legal forum at the Bud plant in Merrimack.
• NNECAPA will give $1,000 for a planning project in NH. Ideas to Thibault, deadline TBD by Thibault.
• Non-profit report filing, Steffen will file report (every 5 years)
• SNHRPC developing tool for planners to balance housing development with conservation, looking for a munipal volunteer.
